House and Senate Agriculture Leadership Respond to Stalled Budget Talks

U.S. Capitol at nightSenate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and House Agriculture Committee Chair Frank Lucas (R-OK) announced that they “will continue the process of reauthorizing the farm bill in the coming months” after the Joint Select Committee was unable to reach an agreement on a deficit reduction package.

In their joint statement, Stabenow and Lucas emphasized their commitment to seek ways to cut spending “while maintaining key priorities to grow the country’s agriculture economy”.
